Small Farm Animal Veterinary Care in Pasadena, TX

Not every animal on your property is a dog or a cat. If you keep goats, sheep, poultry, pigs, or a small backyard flock, the hard part is finding a veterinarian who will see them at all. Many companion-animal practices in the Houston area do not. Spencer Animal Hospital does.

We have cared for this community’s animals since 1974 and have held AAHA accreditation for more than 30 years. Our team understands that animals kept on small properties, hobby farms, and in backyard flocks need thoughtful care just like household pets do.

Call us at 281-476-0066 to talk about your animals before you bring them in. We can help you plan for the appointment and let you know what information to have ready.

We understand that transporting such large animals is no easy task. Farm calls are offered on a limited basis and are subject to availability, location, and scheduling. Please contact our office to discuss your needs.

Care at Our Pasadena Clinic

Small farm animal appointments are seen at our clinic on Spencer Highway in Pasadena. We do not make farm or barn calls, so you will need to transport your animal to us for care.

Spencer Animal Hospital sees goats, sheep, poultry, and pigs for in-clinic appointments. Please call ahead before arriving. This gives our team an opportunity to discuss your animal’s size, handling needs, transportation setup, and the best appointment time. Planning ahead helps make the visit calmer and safer for your animal, your family, and our hospital team.

Because the needs of a backyard chicken, goat, pig, or other small farm animal may differ from those of a dog or cat, a conversation before scheduling is important. We will guide you on what to bring and whether the animal can be safely accommodated at our facility.

Meet the Veterinarian Who Sees Our Farm Animal Patients

Small farm animal appointments at Spencer Animal Hospital are seen by Dr. Annelise Nicoletti. A lifelong Texan, Dr. Nicoletti earned her bachelor’s degree in animal science from Stephen F. Austin University and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Kansas State University in 2018.

While completing her veterinary education, Dr. Nicoletti developed a particular interest in non-traditional species. Her professional interests also include soft-tissue surgery, dermatology, wellness care, and exotic pet medicine. Farm animal visits are scheduled with Dr. Nicoletti specifically, so appointment availability is more limited than it is for dog and cat services. Please call ahead rather than dropping in, especially if your animal has specific handling, transportation, or timing needs.

Why Small Farm Animal Owners Come to Us

Spencer Animal Hospital has served Pasadena-area pet owners continuously since 1974. We have also maintained AAHA accreditation for more than three decades. AAHA accreditation reflects a commitment to established standards for patient care, medical records, cleanliness, anesthesia protocols, surgical equipment, and more.

Small farm animal care is uncommon among companion-animal practices in this area. That is exactly why we state it plainly: if you are looking for a farm animal vet near me and need in-clinic veterinary care for animals kept on a small property, our team is available to discuss your needs.

We know these animals are often an important part of the household. Whether you keep them for companionship, eggs, education, 4-H projects, or the simple enjoyment of caring for animals, it helps to have a local veterinary hospital you can call for guidance.

Serving Pasadena, Deer Park, La Porte, and the Surrounding Area

Spencer Animal Hospital is located in Pasadena, TX, and welcomes small farm animal owners from nearby communities, including Deer Park, La Porte, and the surrounding Harris County area.

For owners searching online for a goat vet near me, sheep vet near me, poultry vet near me, chicken vet near me, or pig vet near me, we encourage a call before scheduling. The conversation helps us confirm whether we can see your specific animal at our Pasadena clinic and helps you prepare for a safe visit.

Our location also allows us to support families who may have a mix of animal-care needs. Along with small farm animal appointments, our hospital provides care for dogs, cats, and many exotic pets.

What to Know Before Your Visit

Calling ahead is essential for small farm animal appointments. When you call, be prepared to share:

  • Your animal’s species, approximate age, and size
  • The reason for the visit and any symptoms you have noticed
  • How the animal will be transported and handled at the clinic
  • Any relevant medical history, medication information, or previous veterinary records
  • Whether other animals in the group or flock are showing similar signs

If your animal appears seriously ill, is injured, or you are concerned about a rapid change in behavior, call us as soon as possible. Our team can discuss the next appropriate step and whether an in-clinic appointment can be arranged.
